FOOD & YOGIC NUTRITION

Nourish Your Body.
Support Your Practice.

At Adhisha, we believe that food is an important part of the yogic journey. During an intensive Yoga Teacher Training, your body needs nourishment that supports energy, digestion, recovery, concentration and consistent practice. Our meals are thoughtfully prepared to provide wholesome nutrition while keeping the food light, fresh and easy to digest. We follow a predominantly Satvik approach to food, while also incorporating suitable Rajasic elements when appropriate to support the physical demands of an intensive training program.

Wholesome Yogic Food Preparation at The Adhisha

Three Fresh Meals Every Day

Students receive three freshly prepared vegetarian meals every day:

01 Breakfast
02 Lunch
03 Dinner

Our meals are prepared fresh with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, balanced nutrition and variety, so that your daily diet remains nourishing and enjoyable throughout the course.

We aim to offer a different menu each day, giving students a varied experience rather than repeating the same meals throughout their stay.

Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free Options

Vegetarian
Vegan options
Gluten-free options
Customized meals available

Our regular menu is vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options available at all three meals.

We understand that students come from different dietary backgrounds and may have specific nutritional requirements.

If you have a food allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement, please inform our team before your arrival.

Customized meals can be arranged at an additional cost, depending on the ingredients and preparation required.

THE YOGIC APPROACH TO FOOD

The Yogic Approach to Food

In Yoga, food is not viewed only as something that satisfies hunger. It is also considered an important part of how we care for the body, energy and mind. During your training, we encourage a mindful approach to eating—choosing food that is nourishing, balanced and supportive of your practice.

Our approach focuses on food that is:

SATVIK & RAJSIK UNDERSTANDING

Satvik & Rajsik Understanding

Students will also be introduced to the traditional yogic understanding of Sattva, Rajas and Tamas in relation to food and lifestyle.

Our intention is not to impose rigid dietary rules, but to help students understand their relationship with food and make more conscious choices.

Hydration is an important part of your daily practice. Throughout the day, students have access to fresh drinking water and regularly prepared infused or detox water and healthy beverages.

Depending on the season and availability, these may include:

  • Fresh infused water
  • Herbal drinks
  • Traditional Indian beverages
  • Fresh seasonal drinks
  • Other naturally prepared refreshments

Clean drinking water is available throughout the school.

Water dispensers/coolers are provided on every floor for convenient access.

We provide RO-purified drinking water, helping students stay hydrated safely throughout their training.

Students are also encouraged to carry and refill their own reusable water bottle to reduce unnecessary plastic consumption.

Your meals are scheduled around the rhythm of the training so that you have sufficient time to eat, digest, rest and prepare for your next practice.

We encourage students to develop mindful eating habits:

Eat slowly → Eat consciously → Nourish the body → Support digestion → Return to practice

Food at Adhisha is therefore not simply accommodation support—it is part of creating a balanced yogic lifestyle during your 200-hour journey.

If you have:

  • Food allergies
  • Food intolerances
  • Vegetarian requirements
  • Vegan requirements
  • Gluten-free requirements
  • Other specific dietary needs

Please inform us before your arrival.

Our team will discuss your requirements and, where practical, arrange suitable alternatives.

Specially customized meals may involve an additional charge depending on the ingredients, preparation and dietary requirements.

At Adhisha, we want you to feel nourished, energized and comfortable throughout your training.

From your first breakfast to your final dinner, our aim is to make food a natural part of your yogic routine—fresh, balanced, varied and prepared with care.

Eat consciously.

Practice deeply.

Nourish completely.

The 20% registration payment is non-refundable.

Your remaining 80% balance can be paid upon arrival at Adhisha, before the commencement of the course.

For your convenience, we accept several payment methods:

PayPal

Payment can be made through PayPal.

Any applicable PayPal processing or transaction charges are payable by the student.

Bank Transfer

Any applicable bank, intermediary-bank or transfer charges are payable by the student.

Any request concerning a refund of an amount paid beyond the non-refundable registration amount will be considered according to the circumstances and Adhisha's applicable cancellation policy. Students should contact the management team directly and provide the specific reason for cancellation or early departure.

We understand that genuine emergencies can occur unexpectedly. If you are unable to continue or attend your scheduled course because of a serious personal, family, medical or other genuine emergency, please contact our management team as soon as possible. Where appropriate, instead of losing your course place, Adhisha may allow you to postpone your training for up to 6 months. Your completed registration can then be transferred to another available course date within the approved postponement period.

Flexible Rejoining

Once your postponement has been approved, you may choose a suitable available course date within the next six months, subject to course availability. This allows you to continue your Yoga journey without having to begin the entire registration process again.

If a student needs to leave the program after the course has already started, they should immediately inform the Adhisha management team and provide the reason for leaving. In the case of a genuine emergency, course postponement may be considered instead of a refund, allowing the student to complete the training at a later available date within the approved six-month period. SAFETY, SECURITY & ENVIRONMENT

A Safe Space to Learn, Practice & Grow

At Adhisha, we believe that students can learn and grow most deeply when they feel safe, respected, comfortable and supported. Our aim is to create an environment where students from different countries, cultures and backgrounds can come together as one respectful community and focus on their Yoga journey.

For the safety and security of our students, CCTV cameras are installed throughout the Yogashala, including common areas and different floors. The system helps us maintain a secure environment and respond appropriately if any concern arises. Privacy is respected, and CCTV is not placed in private areas such as bedrooms or bathrooms.

Adhisha welcomes students from around the world.

We encourage a community based on:

  • Mutual respect
  • Kindness and compassion
  • Cultural understanding
  • Personal boundaries
  • Inclusivity
  • Responsible behaviour
  • Respect for different beliefs and traditions

Every student deserves to feel welcome, valued and respected, regardless of their nationality, culture, language, age, experience or background.

Our team is available to assist students throughout their stay. Whether you need help with a practical concern, transportation, medical assistance, accommodation or general guidance, you can approach our management team. You are never expected to deal with an important concern alone.

Our management team has extensive experience in operating and managing Yoga education environments in Rishikesh. This experience helps us understand the practical needs of international students—from arrival and accommodation to communication, daily routines and emergency support.

In case of an emergency, our team can assist students with:

  • Contacting appropriate medical services
  • Arranging transportation
  • Contacting nearby hospitals or clinics
  • Communicating with family members when appropriate
  • Providing practical assistance during unexpected situations

We also maintain information about nearby medical facilities so that appropriate assistance can be arranged when required.

We aim to maintain a clean, organized and comfortable learning environment throughout the Yogashala. Common areas and facilities are regularly maintained so students can focus on their training without unnecessary distractions.

Yoga teacher training is an intensive experience, and everyone needs time to rest and recharge.

We encourage students and staff to respect:

  • Personal space
  • Quiet hours
  • Privacy
  • Rest time
  • Personal belongings
  • Healthy boundaries

Our goal is to create a community where people can connect deeply while still having the space and privacy they need.

Cleanliness is an important part of our daily environment. The Yogashala and common areas are regularly cleaned, helping maintain a fresh, hygienic and comfortable space for practice and living.

Although Adhisha is conveniently located within Rishikesh, it is situated away from excessive traffic and unnecessary city noise. This allows students to experience the energy of Rishikesh while still having a peaceful environment for Yoga, meditation, study and rest.

Our students come from different parts of the world, bringing different languages, traditions, beliefs and ways of life. At Adhisha, cultural diversity is something we value. We encourage students to learn from one another while respecting the individuality and traditions of everyone in the community.

Yoga brings us together without asking us to become the same.

We keep comprehensive first-aid supplies available at the Yogashala and provide assistance with local pharmacy needs, dietary adjustments, and general wellness care so students stay healthy, comfortable, and well-supported throughout their stay.

Our premises are equipped with safety measures including clear emergency exits, accessible fire extinguishers, and well-lit common pathways to ensure a secure, safe environment for all residents day and night.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY

Safety at Adhisha is not limited to physical security. We believe in creating an environment that supports physical safety, emotional wellbeing, respectful communication and personal boundaries. From the moment you arrive until the completion of your training, our team is here to provide guidance and support whenever needed.

WELCOME TO THE ADHISHA COMMUNITY

Come as a student from anywhere in the world. Leave as part of a community connected through Yoga, learning, respect and shared experience.

Safety and support measures are subject to the school's operational policies and local requirements. Students are also responsible for following reasonable safety instructions and taking care of their personal belongings.

The recommended process is:

Speak with the concerned person  →  Contact the teacher  →  Contact management  →  Find an appropriate resolution

Adhisha does not tolerate harassment, intimidation, discrimination or threatening behaviour.

Cultural Sensitivity

Students should understand that Yoga has deep roots in Indian culture and philosophy. At the same time, Adhisha welcomes students from around the world. We therefore encourage a balance of:

Respect for the roots of Yoga  +  Respect for cultural diversity  +  Openness to learning

No student is expected to abandon their personal identity or beliefs. Everyone is expected to respect the environment and the people around them.

OUR SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

A safe and meaningful Yoga community is created collectively. Adhisha provides the teachers, environment, facilities, guidance and support. • Respect the Space.
